Why is a Soy Candle better?

Being an all natural product, Soy Candles are better for the environment when we extract it from nature, and are totally renewable. When we burn the candles in our homes it is better for us, no petroleum residue to fight against the fragrance that you are trying to fill your rooms with. Soy Candles are virtually soot free, they burn cleanly and they last longer which gives you better value for money.

What is the difference between Soy Candles & Paraffin Candles?

Paraffin Candles are made from a petroleum base, which interacts badly with colors, fragrances and wicks, leading to people not properly enjoying the candle they purchased and in some cases making people feel ill while burning them. They are also known to carry carcinogens which is not good for us to be around while the candle is burning, and they also produce a lot of soot while burning, tending to discolor surrounding walls and furnishings.

Soy Candles are made from 100% Natural and 100% Renewable Soybean. So they are good for us to burn and good for the environment when we extract for our use in Soy Candles. One of the absolute best reasons for buying Soy Candles and not paraffin, with every Soy Candle you purchase you are supporting our hard working farming trade, with every paraffin candle you purchase, you are supporting the environmentally unsafe petroleum trade. Who do you think is more deserving of your support?

Why is my Soy Candle sweating?

You may find droplets on top of your Soy Candle, this happens when the candle is kept in a warm area. This does not affect the performance of the Soy Candle in any way, but if you don't like the look of it simply wipe it dry with a paper towel and shift into a cooler area, otherwise, don't worry about it.

What is in the Soy Candle, are there any chemicals?

My Natural Soy Wax Candles are made from 100% Natural Soy Wax. The Soy Candles are colored with a Natural Vegetable Dye, and 100% Natural Cotton Wicks, no lead or zinc are to be found in our Soy Candles. Finally, we scent our Soy Candles with a blend of Essential Oils and Aroma Oils to give you the best scented Soy Candles possible. Unlike some candle makers we do not add anything in our Soy Candles to help smooth them, or to make the colors not fade, we believe in keeping it as natural as possible. We attempt to make the best Soy Candles possible, but we are not perfect and our candles don't always turn out perfect either, but if the surface appears a little wrinkled or the color has faded a little while sitting on your shelf it doesn't make any difference to how the Soy Candle burns or how it smells. We believe you will enjoy our Soy Candles even more with their little imperfections, knowing they are Hand Crafted and all Natural.

Why does my Soy Candle burn black and leave me with black residue on the jar?

Even though our Soy Candles are 100% Natural with Cotton Wicks, sometimes things can go wrong. A wick might not have been sized correctly which can lead to the candle not burning correctly. Anyway this does not occur very often at all, but if your candle is burning black your wick is too big. This is easily fixed. Extinguish your Soy Candle and wait for the wax to solidify, then trim the wick to about 4-5mm and then just wipe around the glass with a dry paper towel to remove most of the black from jar. Then re-light. If ever you notice this happening with your Soy candles, just follow the simple steps outlined.

What is the best way to extinguish my Soy Candle?

The best way to extinguish a Soy Candle is to “Dip the Wick”. You may be wondering what this means? Just take a used match or a bamboo stick and push the burning wick gently into the melted wax pool, when the flame goes out gently pull the wick back up. This way you have virtually no smoke when extinguishing your Soy Candle. You can also purchase Wick Dippers to do the job; they will be coming to Scented Naturally very soon.

What do I do with the empty Soy Candle jars?

The empty Soy Candle jars makes for some decorative storage containers when cleaned. Here's the easiest way to do that. Put your finished jars (without the lids) in a cool oven, around 100 Celsius, and let the residue melt down. When the residue is liquefied carefully remove from the oven (the jars won't be too hot to handle, but be careful anyway) and wipe the excess from the jar with a dry paper towel, this will also help to remove the wick from the bottom of the jar. When you've wiped as much of the excess as possible, simply wash the jar in warm soapy water and presto you have a clean, new jar ready to store something beautifully in.

Do you only stock Soy Candles or do you have other Scented Products?

At this point in time our major product on offer is Scented Soy Candles, but coming in the not too distant future is Hand Crafted Incense Sticks as well as matching Reed Diffusers, all to mix and match with your Scented Soy Candles. Later down the track we hope to be extending into matching Bath Salts and Hand Crafted Soaps. So we will become your one stop Aroma shop for any area in the house you want to add beautiful scents.

How do I clean up the Soy Candle if I spill it?

Being 100% Natural and 100% biodegradable the biggest benefit here is, if you spill the liquid portion of the Soy Candle you can easily clean it up. All you need is dry paper towel to mop up the excess wax, and clean up with warm soapy water. It's as simple as that!

Do I have to trim the wick in my Soy Candle?

The Natural Cotton wicks used in our Soy Candles are self trimming, so trimming is generally not needed. However if you are having problems burning the candle or your candle is producing excess smoke, then you may need to trim your wick. Remember to trim it to 4-5mm.

Will I have a strong scent throw while burning my Soy Candle?

As we use Premium Grade Oils to scent our Soy Candles, you will have a strong scent throw from your burning candle. However, there are scents that aren't as strong as others and these candles should be enjoyed in a smaller area to get the full benefit from the scent.

Why should I buy Scented Naturally Soy Candles and not another brand?

We are a small, family owned business, and we believe in giving our customers the best possible product that their money can buy. So we craft our candles as if we were going to buy them ourselves, we fill our Soy Candles with as much fragrance as the wax will take to ensure you, the customer, has the best experience when burning one of our Soy Candles.

We endeavour to give you the best product possible, and if we don't feel the Soy Candle has passed muster to make it onto our sales list, it doesn't get promoted until it satisfies our quality control. The best way to answer this question is simple; Buy a Soy Candle, burn it, enjoy it and I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Look at our Testimonials Page, these comments have been kindly submitted by my long standing customers who have fallen absolutely in love with the quality Soy Candles that we produce.

Finally, we are natural, our Soy Candles contain nothing harmful and everything that is wonderful in nature. You be the judge.
